We are looking for dynamic Technical Lead specializing in Database migrations with expertise in open-source database platforms (Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL) and Oracle infrastructure.

You will play a key Database engineering and technical lead role in developing and operationalizing the next generation of Interac on-prem and cloud solutions using innovation-led design thinking, agile development methodologies predictive analytics, and intelligent automation.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Leading Database design, development and workload cloud migrations from Oracle on prem to Oracle Cloud, AWS PostgreSQL. (i.e. Finalize Migration approach, schemas, data migration strategy and execution, performance, observability, logical and physical database operationalization and management etc)
- Implementing best practices and standards for cloud migrations, ensuring high multi region/zone availability and scalability, reliability, security, and compliance.
- Analyzing complex distributed production deployments and optimizing performance through automation and resiliency.
- SQL tuning and performance optimization: Strong expertise in analyzing execution plans, proactively identifying potential performance bottlenecks, and optimizing SQL queries.
- Planning, creating, resizing, and monitoring tablespaces for optimized performance, and implement efficient data and space utilization strategies.
- Strong command over SQL and PL/SQL, with the ability to analyze source-target mappings, develop automated scripts, and validate data accuracy post-migration

**You bring**:

- 8-10+ years of related experience including previous expertise developing, leading, implementing on prem to cloud database migrations and managing on prem and hybrid cloud workload.
- A university degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong expertise with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), AWS Schema Conversion tool (SCT).
- Previous hands-on experience leading and maintaining Oracle/Aurora PostgreSQL databases on AWS
- Previous experience implementing and managing backups, restoration, replications, and snapshots
- Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
- A strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and PL/SQL is essential.
- Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
- Experience working with container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker
- Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Code concept and techniques
- Hands-on experience with advanced database troubleshooting, leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Proficient in creating technical Database documentations and providing knowledge transfer.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate with business and technical stakeholders.
- You are a strong team player and are able to seamlessly interact with others in a team environment.
- Ability to work occasional after hours as an technical escalation when required.

- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
