**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate the mechanic’s work, collaborating with team leaders to address priority maintenance issues as they relate to the service schedule.
- Control the costs of the payroll in the department - hours worked, overtime, etc.
- Coordinate the work and plan the inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and transportation equipment as needed (internal and external work orders)
- Complete work orders and update the maintenance tracking system regularly.
- Manage the inspection and preventative maintenance programs for the fleet and ensure maintenance records are updated.
- Find suppliers for parts, equipment, tools, and guarantees, analyze quotes and negotiate prices.
- Oversees daily fleet operations and determines volume and mix of fleet required based on work schedule.
- Hires, trains, and mentors technicians while providing day-to-day leadership and ongoing development opportunities.
- Works closely with Site Managers and monitors vehicle transfers and movement between project locations.
- Ensures operational policies and procedures are up to date and adhered to.
- Implements innovative logístical and operational processes that will boost efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and approve expenditures for labour, materials, and outside services.
- Coordinate new vehicle onboarding process through verification of order; working with vendors to resolve any problems that arise at delivery or inspection of the new vehicles and assisting with the coordination of any after-delivery modifications.
- Oversee the functioning and maintenance of fleet vehicle GPS program.
- Complete regular checks to ensure accurate tracking and reporting through the GPS program.
**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of Fleet Management and Operations experience
- 310S or 310T license preferred but not required
- Experience overseeing a large amount of fleet in a fast-paced environment
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Proven leadership abilities and superior communication skills
- A DZ driver’s license is the minimum requirement needed
- Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
- Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related experience preferred
- Mechanical background with a strong understanding of heavy machinery repair and maintenance cycles
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Computer literate with confidence in Microsoft Office
- Properly document all Company, Federal, Provincial and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner
**Essential Physical Functions**
- Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
- Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements (rain, snow, heat) for extended periods of time
- Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable
- Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights
- Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
