**Summary**
Our company needs a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our staff. The worker will ensure efficient and timely operation of the community, as well as showing support and enhancing the daily lives of the residents while providing them with the highest levels of service as possible. This position will require someone that is flexible and able to work well under pressure.
**Responsibilities**
- Perform general maintenance (major & minor repairs) of buildings and homes within the community (eavestroughs, blinds, locks)
- Clean debris and dust from the assigned areas
- Install and repair exterior electric wiring and replace bulbs and capacitors
- Investigate residents’ concerns and report findings to the Property Management Office
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment & tools; report possible problems
- Specialized equipment used during cleaning duties (blowers, mowers)
- Perform general maintenance to mechanical systems of buildings
- Follow waste management procedures when collecting waste
- Move furniture and equipment upon instruction
- Maintain overall condition of the buildings and grounds (free of leaves/trash)
- Daily pool maintenance to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations
- Inspect premises ensuring hazardous conditions are reported and corrected

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 1-3 years demonstrated experience in a multiple unit/building environment
- Previous experience with pool equipment and maintenance practices and procedures
- Must possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades
- Good computer skills using database and an electronic communication software
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Strong ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and prioritize as necessary
- Exceptional team work skills
- Knowledge of construction and/or retirement living industry an asset
**Requirements**:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
- Valid G Driver’s License and Clean Drivers Abstract
- Ability to read, write, speak English
**Working Conditions**
- Hours of Work: Multiple shifts including days/afternoons with an “on call” rotation schedule for evenings / weekends / holidays
- Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours each day
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work from heights, operate basic mechanical and hand tools and equipment
