Bonaventure Support Services is a dynamic and expanding social service agency on Vancouver Island. We offer a broad range of services, supports and opportunities to adults, who live with diverse abilities. Our focus is person centered with goal directed options, and full participation in community. The Community Inclusion Worker establishes and maintains a warm and personal relationship with each person supported and encourages the natural supports and active involvement of family members, friends, and neighbors in each person's life. A key component of this role is to assist individuals in their physical, social, emotional, recreational, economic, educational, and vocational life skill development

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Preferred formal education (i.e.CSW, RCA, SIVA etc.) and/or relevant work experience
- Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills
- The desire and ability to work with persons with diverse abilities and demonstrated personal suitability to promote dignity, independence, and individuality
- Ability to work independently
- Must be in good health with the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position & shift responsibilities

- Ability to work with individuals specific to this position
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow protocols, policies, and procedures
- Ability to stay calm and focused in stressful situations
- Ability to assist individuals with the activities of daily living involving their personal and health care, behavioural, nutritional, recreational, social, vocational, educational, and environmental needs as identified in their person-centered plan
- Ability to promote positive behavioral intervention strategies, following program approaches in a consistent, competent manner, manage challenging behaviors that will protect themselves and the supported individuals
- Ability to coordinate, implement, and facilitate participation in community-based social, recreational, and vocational activities
- empowering individuals to be full citizens of community.

- RCMP Criminal Record Check (Schedule A - Employer will file)
- Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR
- Proof of COVID-19 Full Vaccination or Exemption

- 3 reference letters
