**Position Details**
- The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. (or be ABD with an expected defense date) in Philosophy or a closely related field.
- We seek applicants with competence to teach a broad range of courses, especially introductory courses, including sections of our introduction to philosophy. The ability to teach courses in areas that complement the Department’s existing strengths, as well as the ability to teach Non-Western philosophy, will be considered an asset.
- The successful applicant will also demonstrate interest in advising undergraduate students, in coordinating our undergraduate program, and in engaging in service activities that benefit undergraduates and support or expand the department’s existing offerings for undergraduate students.

- A teaching dossier that includes: (a.) a statement of teaching philosophy; (b.) a statement outlining one’s contributions to inclusive practices in teaching; (c.) evidence of teaching effectiveness, and (d.) two sample course syllabi, one of which should address Introduction to Philosophy;
- A writing sample of no more than 25 pages (or one published article);
- And the names and contact information of three references.
