**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Continuous Quality Improvement, the Evidence and Knowledge Mobilization Advisor will increase the department’s impact on health and health equity by supporting implementation of Evidence Informed Public Health (EIPH) activities across the Department and support knowledge mobilization both internally and externally.
**Education**:
- Post-secondary degree in health or relevant discipline.
- Master’s level training in a relevant discipline, such as public health, health, public administration, policy, planning or equivalent is preferred.
**Knowledge**:
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience working in a public health setting experience.
- Experience in knowledge exchange Activities
- Knowledge of change management and theories and principles of public health programming
- Experience in multi-modal training development and delivery is preferred.
- Research and evaluations skills to collect, analyze, synthesize, and report on assigned projects
- Experience in evidence to practice methodologies and program planning is preferred.
- Qualification in knowledge brokering, Evidence Informed Decision Making (EIDM/EIPH) or Rapid Review methodology.
- Certificate in knowledge mobilization is preferred.
- Principles of adult learning and education is preferred.
**Responsibilities**:
**_ Increase the impact of health and health equity by supporting implementation of EIPH activities across the Department. (40% of time)_**:
- Provide ongoing training and support to staff conducting EIPH and managers translating EIPH recommendations into program planning.
- Guide divisional and cross-divisional EIPH projects through each step of the EIPH process.
- Provide support to staff conducting critical appraisals and ensure the correct tools and resources are being used for consistency and calibration of scoring across the Department.
- Ensure consistent reporting of the EIPH process centrally and perform quality assurance on submissions to ensure they meet best practice methodology.
- Evaluate EIPH projects against pre-defined indicators of success. Support program staff in the evaluation of program level EIPH projects and subsequent knowledge to action work.
- Develop benchmarks and metrics to monitor and evaluate deliverables.
- Monitor program budgets as appropriate (e.g. funding proposals, RFPs).
- Perform analysis of data/applied research.
- Build partnerships with divisions to organize and coordinate efforts and identify gaps and reconcile variances in meeting requirements.
**_ Translate Public Health data and evidence utilizing knowledge exchange activities, both internally for program planning and externally for use by stakeholders and community partners to enable ready use of evidence. (30% of time)_**:
- Proactively identify opportunities for knowledge exchange through local community partners, educational institutions, private sector and the local media.
- Work with other members of the Organization and Foundational Standards team, research organizations and local government to develop and implement a plan for knowledge exchange events and activities which support the Department’s knowledge exchange and broader strategic priorities.
- Design and manage knowledge sharing events, including determining an agenda, identifying resource persons and key target audiences, drafting promotions and communications materials, supporting logístical and administrative arrangements, and documenting key outcomes of the event.
- Promote effective dissemination of knowledge products through data analysis and EIPH internally to program managers to assist with program planning, and externally to the local community to increase the use of public health evidence and the impact on health and health equity.
