**Packaging Machine Operators**
**(Afternoon shift - 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday)**

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setup, adjusting and operating various pieces of computerized and manual packaging equipment to ensure that daily packaging requirements are met.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the setup of the packaging machines to ensure efficiency, quality, and safe practices
- Setup and change product materials in a quick, efficient manner
- Ensure that all code, date, units/label printers are properly set up
- Setting up, cleaning, and calibrating all scales to maintain accurate weight control
- Ensure the line runs at or exceeds efficiency
- Provide QA with product as required for testing
- Record all equipment downtime and properly log information for maintenance purposes
- Complete all required production paperwork
- Palletizing skids of finished product
- Follow and practice all GMP’s, HACCP and SQF protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packaging area
- Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned by Manager

**Education, Experience & Competency Requirements**:

- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and previous experience in the food/beverage industry
- Strong knowledge and experience operating pouch packing machinery and bottle filling lines.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient ability to speak, read, write, and take direction in English
- Good mathematical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and SQF principles is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and have good attention to detail
- Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with a team as well as work independently as needed
- Ability to engage in routine walking, standing, bending and carry items weight up to 40 lbs plus for extended periods of time
