**The Opportunity**
The Materials Handler coordinates, expedites and ensures the uninterrupted flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities.

**Responsibilities**
- Read schedules, reports, and job orders to determine materials required, availability of stock, and order priority
- Work with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and complete discrepancy reports as required
- Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas
- Record and maintain inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed
- Compile and maintain inventory and production records
- Examine material received, verify part numbers, engineering codes, and check for discrepancies
- Transport materials to and from suppliers and customers

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma and/or Secondary Education related to Operations Management, Materials Planning/Handling
- Experience and/or training in Inventory and Materials Management preferable
- Ability to maintain effective communication both internally and externally to support outstanding customer service
- Driver’s license with proven safe driving record
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with automated and/or barcoding inventory systems is an asset

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- warehouse: 2 years (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
- Overnight Shift (preferred)
