Skid Steer Operator/ Labourer

Double Star Drilling is currently hiring for a **full-time Skid Steer Operator/ Labourer** for our Acheson location.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Operate skid steer to perform various tasks such as grading, backfilling, loading and material handling
- Able to set up laser and read blueprints
- Able to read and understand grading stakes/drawings and clean tracks
- Maneuver equipment in tight spaces, construction sites and other challenging environments
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to the Site Superintendent or Site Foreman
- Work in a safe manner, identifying and reporting any hazards
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Out-of-town work may be available
- Work in compliance with Double Star Drilling safety and occupational health and safety policies
- Ability to perform physical work with medium and heavy lifting on a regular basis
- Take on labourer duties when skid steer operation is not required

**Key Requirements and Skills**:

- Ability to communicate fluently in English is an asset
- Minimum 1 year experience operating a skid steer
- Minimum 1 year experience as a labourer
- Minimum 1 year experience working on construction sites
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- Valid CSTS-2020
- Valid WHMIS2015
- Skid Steer Loader/Operation certification
- Weights/ Dimensions/ Cargo Securement certification
- Valid Ground Disturbance 2 would be an asset
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently
- Reliable and self motivated
- Ability to interact with management, customers, trades, and employees in a professional and respectful manner
- Ability to work overtime hours, including weekends when required
- Ability to work out of town when required

**Hours and Schedule**:
Double Star Drilling’s tentative operation hours are from 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Depending on production, schedule and timelines overtime and weekends may be required.
