Kitchen/aftercare/recess Assistant

Oakville, Canada La Villa Montessori School Full time

Responsibilities:

- Assist in food preparation and handling in the kitchen
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area and equipment
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify supervisor when items need to be restocked
- Follow all safety and health regulations in food handling and preparation
- Assist supervising children 15 months to 12 years during outdoor recess
- Supervise children during Aftercare
- Assist in implementing toilet learning for Toddlers during aftercare
- Clean school daily at end of day
- 10:30am-6:30pm Daily shift

**Skills**:

- Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen experience: Familiarity with basic kitchen operations, equipment, and food preparation techniques
- Food preparation: Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients
- Food handling: Understanding of proper food handling practices to maintain food safety standards
- Experience working in childcare, preschool or Montessori setting is an asset
- Experience working with children between 15 months to 6 years of age is an asset
- Knowledge of early childhood education and principles
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Please note that this job may require standing for long periods of time. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

**Requirements**:

- First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Vulnerable Screening Check

**Salary**: $15.50-$20.13 per hour
