The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is dedicated to providing a professional high standard of quality non-medical personal care and health maintenance customized to suit the resident’s needs, according to their individual plans of care. Collaboration with other health care team members is expected where and when appropriate.

**RESPONSIBILITES**:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in consultation with a Registered Practical Nurse:

- Performing tasks delegated to them (Working within their scope of practice).
- Following the resident’s care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in the resident’s behavior to the RPN or RN.
- Assisting with ambulation, positioning and transferring using mechanical lifts such as a ceiling lift, portable full mechanical lift or a sit-to-stand lift.
- Assisting or providing all resident needs with activities of daily living (ADLS) including continence and all intimate care.
- Assisting with, psycho-social and spiritual care needs.
- Assisting resident’s with various needs by answering call bells.
- Performing resident watch for confused or high-risk residents as required.
- Electronic documentation required by the Home and legislative requirements.
- Reporting behavioral and clinical changes to an RN, RPN, or Manager.
- Helping residents to reach their maximum potential with a restorative approach.
- All other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- PSW Certificate or equivalent as per the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
- Nursing student from an approved college or university who has successfully completed the second year
- Maturity and good physical and mental health
- Good interpersonal communication skills (English)
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $25.19-$26.88 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
