**Position Summary**
The Maintenance Helper supports the Indoor Maintenance team in maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and staff areas at the resort. This entry-level role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with general handy-person skills, a strong work ethic, and a guest-focused attitude. The Maintenance Helper will assist with minor repairs, cleaning up job sites, organizing tools and supplies, and responding to basic maintenance requests with the goal of supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assist with routine property walk-throughs and visual maintenance checks.
- Support basic maintenance tasks such as:
- Changing light bulbs.
- Minor paint touch-ups and caulking.
- Light furniture or fixture assembly or repairs.
- Simple drain unclogging (e.g., plunging).
- Help prepare and clean up materials and tools before and after maintenance projects.
- Organize and maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and storage areas.
- Escort and assist third-party service providers on-site (e.g., electricians, plumbers).
- Run errands or pick up supplies/tools as needed.
- Communicate repair needs clearly to senior maintenance staff.
- Respond politely and promptly to basic guest maintenance requests.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance while in guest areas.
- Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude with all guests and team members.
- Support guest-facing departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk) by responding to urgent repair needs efficiently.
- Promote safety and cleanliness in all areas of work.
**Skills, Abilities, Attributes**
- Demonstrated interest or basic experience in maintenance, repair work, or similar hands-on roles.
- Friendly, approachable personality with strong customer service instincts.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work alongside experienced team members.
- Able to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks.
- Good physical condition: able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on feet for long periods.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work afternoons, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
**Education & Experience**:
**Nice to Have (but not required)**:
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or facility maintenance setting.
- Basic knowledge of tools, painting, plumbing, or general repairs.
- Experience using hand or power tools safely.
**Note**: This is a junior-level position intended to support the Indoor Maintenance team. The role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in property maintenance and hospitality operations in a resort environment.
