**Position Title**: Personal Support Worker **Reports to**: Service Coordinator **Location**: Kamloops, BC **Overall Responsibility**: Providing 24 hour in-home, personalized support to a young individual with diverse abilities living in a lovely downtown home. **Employment Type**:Full-Time, 24-hour shifts; 4 days on, 4 days off. **24-hour Shifts**:This position is considered a "Live-In" position under the BC Employment Standards Act. Support Workers are not expected to be awake throughout the entire shift and are provided a staff room/bed to sleep in. However, if the individual required assistance overnight, the support worker would be expected to provide essential support when needed. **Compensation**: IMLKS offers competitive wages and benefits, covers meals during shifts and mileage is reimbursed upon submission. IMLKS also offers paid training and development opportunities for its employees. **Other Perks**:Down time - throughout the day when the individual is occupied with their own activities, there is time for team members to relax or do their own hobbies onsite (read a book, exercise, cook/bake, etc.). **No experience or certification necessary We will fully train the right person** **Key Areas of Responsibility**: - Aiding the individual with personal health and hygiene - Providing a safe and nurturing environment - Presenting the individual in a positive and respectable manner - Promoting independence - Helping maintain the household - Supporting individuals with leisure activities and other community involvement - Supporting the individual with all aspects of daily living in their home and in community **Skills and Attributes**: - Good crisis management and problem solving skills - Open-minded attitude - Excellent communication skills - Dedication for promoting personal growth in one’s life - Strong ability to work in an independent setting - Proficient decision making skills - Must be comfortable providing personal care **Job Requirements**: - Valid First Aid Certificate **Can be obtained during training period**: - Clear Criminal Record check *Processed within our office - Medical clearance form completed by physician - TB test (to be completed within probationary period) - Must be able to provide verification of a minimum of 2 doses of a Canadian approved vaccination against COVID-19 **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $46,600.00-$49,800.00 per year **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company events - Company pension - Dental care - Disability insurance - Discounted or free food - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - Vision care - Wellness program Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Application question(s): - What is your weekly availability? - Do you have a minimum of two doses of a vaccination for COVID-19?
