**_ What will you be doing?_**

**JOB OVERVIEW**

Prepare meals per portion and quality standards specified in recipes.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**Prepare meals and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure that guests receive high-quality food items promptly. Coordinate the smooth service concerning the pass and pick-up of food.
-Organize the day for the cooks and restaurants; supervise line set-up and misc en place.
-Identify all foods for repurposing after a daily line check is performed.
-Innovate as a group the ingredients for either daily specials or other purposes such as freezing, Jarring, or dehydrating.
-Label, date all products to their respective standards set out by supervisors.
-Communicate to supervisors any items that are in short supply impacting menu items and offerings.
-Advise supervisor of low inventory items or may order necessary food items.
-Assist in receiving items and taking inventory as needed.
-Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the provincial and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.
-Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
-Assist in the training of kitchen staff; ensure that all cook’s duties have been performed during the shift and may give direction to Second Cook
-Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. May occasionally interact directly with guests.
-Ability to perform functions with mínimal supervision.
-May assist by performing ware washer/dishwasher or other kitchen duties as needed.
-Taste all foods prepared and check with Sous Chef for guidance on quality.
-May assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
-In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of 3 years of experience in food preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some colleges are preferred.
-Friendly and hospitality-focused
-Attention to detail.
-Red Seal Certification
-Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship
-Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
