- To commensurate with experience & qualifications**Position Summary**:The Interlake Eastern Regional Health Authority Mental Health & Addictions Program provides a wide range of mental health and addiction services that support and promote recovery. Through collaboration and partnership across various sectors, our goal is to promote mental health and well-being and minimize inequities for all.

Reporting to the Director, Health Services, Mental Health & Addictions, the Manager, Health Services, Mental Health & Addictions is responsible to provide leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of the regional community mental health and addictions program for the areas of responsibility within assigned portfolio. This includes responsibility for the management of staff and resources and the provision of leadership and consultative advice in clinical care, operational and administrative activities of the service(s), and ensuring services are delivered and implemented in an effective and efficient manner aligned with the organization’s quality improvement initiatives, and objectives. The position of Manager - Mental Health & Addictions functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.

- Child & Adolescent Community Mental Health Program and Central Intake
- Crisis Services
- Crisis Stabilization Unit and Mental Health Liaison Nurses

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree/ diploma in health/social services. ex. B. Sc. M.H, B. Sc. P.N, B.S.W, R.P.N., R.N, with an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
- Current, active registration with the applicable licensing body and a member in good standing.
- Advanced education preparation in health care management and relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and environments and produce innovative solutions;
- Knowledge and experience developing and monitoring policy and procedures;
- Minimum five (5) years mental health and/or addictions experience required; with two (2) years clinical supervision/ leadership experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
- Experience delegating staff work assignments required.
- Experience in employee and labour relations preferred
- Demonstrated effective leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and delegate.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and oral;
- Ability to promote team building while understanding that decisive action is required.
- Ability to find creative solutions to problems and to develop alternative strategies to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Positive problem-solving skills in a dynamic unionized work environment.
- Ability to address system level issues in a multi-level service system with professionalism.
- Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position;
- Self-motivation.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships;
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
