Social Media Assistant

**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Create, prepare and schedule social media posts to be posted on various social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook)
- Assist in the development and implementation of social media strategies
- Assist in the creation of content to be published on social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook)
- Generate captions for social media posts for various social media platforms, adjusting captions according to best practices for each platform
- Utilize graphics made by the graphic designer on social media posts
- Assist and collaborate with team members on content creation and content editing
- Refine content to maintain cohesiveness across all social media platforms with the BIA’s branding and aesthetic
- Research and stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices
- Analyze social media metrics and provide insights to the team
- Participate in content calendar preparation meetings
- Participate in content creation collaboration
- Assist in overseeing all social media accounts
- Monitor tags and comments on social media accounts, ensuring a timely response
- Monitor and respond to messages on various social media accounts in a timely and professional manner
- Assist in discussion and development of strategies to increase followership and engagement
- Monitor BIA member businesses’ accounts for things to share on the BIA’s social media pages
- Attend all BIA events and grand openings to assist with operations and to capture and post social media content in real time
**Requirements**:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Social Media, Communications, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in social media management or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Creative mindset with a passion for social media
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite and other scheduling apps
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Canva
**Reports to**:
- Marketing Manager
- Executive Director
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week
**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
