**Summary**:
The Automation Team Leader ensures efficient operation of all process control instrumentation and process control systems in the plant. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the equipment throughout the plant and have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Troubleshoots and makes minor and major repairs of equipment, including automation systems, in order to prevent or minimize equipment and machine downtime, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Maintains the Control Systems hardware, software, along with programming additions and changes.
- Assists with training other Instrumentation/Programmers and other plant personnel.
- Performs electronic and instrumentation installations and repair tasks.
- Assists Engineering and others in developing plans for instrumentation, automation systems for capital and other projects.

**Typical Education**:

- Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Instrumentation Technologist/Technician.

**Relevant Experience**:

- Must have a minimum of five years of Instrumentation, Automation experience. Food processing background being an asset.
- Must have a thorough Programmable Logic Controllers and Control Systems. Preference to knowledge of DeltaV Scada, Foundation Field Bus, ASi Bus, DeviceNet, and Rockwell Automation products.
- Must possess well-developed computer skills.
- Must be able to read and understand PIDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Must be able to communicate verbally in a professional manner.
