To this day, the company continues to manufacture its famous confections in the town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong continues to grow in the fast paced & competitive world of food manufacturing and is currently seeking an Operator for the Pan Room.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Pan Room Operator is responsible for converting the raw centers created in the Starch Room to the final product.

**Responsibilities**:

- Following written instructions to complete the process
- Work in both Pan and Polish, preparing ingredients, cooking syrups, engrossing and polishing
- Identify scrap candy and monitor the product closely
- Transport the aged product to the polishing area and then into a second pan
- Add finishing touches to the Hot Tamales
- Adhere to all safety practices and policies
- Complete Sour Sugar when required
- Complete other duties as assigned by shift supervisor

- Demonstrate/possess good safety ethics & practices
- Must work well under pressure
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Able to problem solve in a systematic manner
- Demonstrate good manufacturing practices
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional people skills & coaching ability.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education and/or Food industry background with experience is an asset.
- Dependable with good attendance record
- Willingness to be cross trained
- No bending or lifting restrictions
- Knowledge of current health & safety legislations, policies, and procedures
- Ability to work shift work, 8 to 12 hour shifts, holidays, overtime and call-in shifts as required
