**General Summary.....**

The Gatehouse Clerk is responsible to register the vehicles entering and leaving the yard, on paper and in computer systems. Direct Truckers to the areas where they must go to park, pick up or leave trailers.

**This position will be responsible for.....**
- Register the vehicles entering and leaving the yard, on paper and in computer systems;
- Break, affix and register security seals on vehicles entering and leaving the yard;
- Visually inspect all vehicles entering and leaving the yard;
- Contact the various departments of the distribution center as required regarding vehicles entering and leaving and according to the directives of FedEx Supply Chain and its client;
- Inform and explain the safety rules of the yard at arrival to the truckers;
- Direct truckers to the areas where they must go to park, pick up or leave trailers;
- If necessary, help other services located at the gatehouse;
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by management;- Respect the safety rules and procedures at all times;

**Education/Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalence;
- One (1) year to two (2) years of experience as gatekeeper, an asset;
- Good computer skills, must know Word and Excel;
- Ability to work with a specific clientele such as truckers;
- Thorough detail oriented;
- Concern for compliance with procedures;
- Ability to solve problems;
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
- Adaptability;
- Ability to work in difficult weather conditions (heat and cold);
- Good physical ability - must open and close trailer doors in harsh winter conditions and work with tools such as: crowbar, hammer and bolt cutter;
- Ability to work standing or sitting for prolonged periods;
- Ability to handle stress
