Harbourside Geotechnical Consultants (HGC), a consulting engineering firm based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is looking for a **PDR/FDR Supervising Technician**to join our team. **Responsibility**

The work would consist of a variety of laboratory, field, and office work which may include:

- Supervising and monitoring daily operations related to the processing and placement of reclaimed and stabilized materials.
- Working directly with NSDPW Highway Construction Services, Project Engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to contract specifications and quality standards.
- Observing and ensuring the proper operation of recycling equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Communicating any non-compliance, deficiencies, or operational issues to the contractor, subcontractors, and Department representatives in a timely manner.
- Preparing daily Field Activity Reports, documenting all observations, communications, and recommendations, and include photographs for clarity.
- Providing feedback and making recommendations to improve operational efficiency and compliance with project standards.
- Maintaining clear and detailed records of all project activities and observations, ensuring accurate documentation throughout the project.
- Attending meetings with project teams to discuss issues, updates, and necessary improvements.
- Ensuring that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during field operations.

**Required Capabilities**
- Strong knowledge of highway construction processes, particularly in recycling and reclamation activities.
- Ability to identify and address compliance issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create detailed reports and documentation.
- Familiarity with highway construction equipment and machinery used in recycling and stabilization processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to observe and document field conditions accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in construction environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Valid Nova Scotian driver’s licence.

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- CET/EIT designation is considered an asset.
- Previous consulting and pavement reclamation experience considered an asset.

Pay: $17.79-$39.39 per hour
