**Location**: Concord, ON (Hybrid)
As the **Procurement Specialist, **you be responsible to support the overall quality and stabilization of the company’s goods and services supply. Through leveraging your knowledge of industry best practices and best-in-class sourcing methodologies, you will support and maintain effective contract management and global partnerships. Negotiation and cost management skills will be an integral part of this role.
**Responsibilities**:
- Managing RFIs, RFQs and RFPs, including schedules of compliance in detail, defining criteria to meet and evaluating bids.
- Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, reviewing supplier scorecards, and proposing alternative solutions while continuously seeking to reduce dependency on single-source suppliers through strategic partnerships.
- Managing supplier relationships including the tracking of supplier performance, overall supply availability, pricing, and quality.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining savings and cost avoidance projects, ensuring to track and adjust savings planned vs. carried out.
- Ensuring to gather all necessary documentation from required internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships through consistent follow-up and communication.
- Proactively resolve issues (i.e., material shortages, quality issues, etc.) with vendors and internal customers using organizational savvy and critical thinking skills.
- Ensuring overall procurement process is adhered to and in compliance with legal and financial processes.
**Requirements**:
- Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Business Administrator, Procurement/Supply Chain and/or 4+ years of experience within a similar type role.
- Sound knowledge in negotiation, cost analysis, data analysis and custom reporting.
- Previous experience working within a fast-paced, matrix driven environment.
- Agility to work independently with the ability to shift priorities in a fast-growing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing and reporting on multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to concisely communicate escalations, requirements and issues to suppliers, peers, management, and customers with clarity.
- Keeps an entrepreneurial mindset, deep curiosity, and a passion for learning & growth.
- Demonstrates strong self-efficacy and ability to take initiative in problem solving.
- Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate and the ability to persuade, influence and motivate.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- SAP experience preferred
- Available for occasional travel.
