**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Employment and Partnership Development at Career Services, the ACT to Employ and Student Employment Programs Coordinator is the primary point of contact for ACT to Employ Employers, and is responsible for the success of Carleton’s ACT to Employ program and partnerships through effective delivery of all aspects of ACT to Employ programming for undergraduate, graduate students and alumni with disabilities seeking placements. The incumbent will develop and maintain strong on-campus partnerships that provide students with disabilities placement opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will develop and maintain partnerships with external employers and community support providers to create work opportunities for Carleton students with disabilities, as well as the broader university. The ACT to Employ and Student Employment Programs Coordinator will provide advising and accessibility advocacy practices to employers, as well as support with accommodations as students transition into the workplace. The incumbent engages employers with Career Services events and recruitment opportunities on campus.

The ACT to Employ and Student Employment Programs Coordinator is responsible for employer relationships and ensures a smooth program flow and support for employers in all aspects of the program. The incumbent also works closely with the ACT to Employ Student Advisor and ACT Advisor to ensure a seamless delivery of Career Services programming and support for Carleton students with disabilities.

A key component of the ACT to Employ and Student Employment Programs Coordinator position is working with employer and community partners to support students with disabilities in their pursuit of career development and resources. Together with the Manager, Employment and Partnership Development, the incumbent will work to develop, and implement the tracking of key strategic objectives as they pertain to placements and supports for these opportunities provided to all ACT to Employ students. The incumbent is responsible for providing timely, knowledgeable advice on student employment-related issues, workplace accommodation supports, and for helping to direct employers to the appropriate support and resources. The ACT to Employ and Student Employment Programs Coordinator position requires staying current with various career strategies and resources to support different types of disabilities (i.e. anxiety/depression, autism, hearing and/or visual impairments, learning disabilities etc).

**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:

- Able to represent the University appropriately to current and potential employers, members of the University community, and individual student and alumni members
- General knowledge of the University, faculties and program curricula is required, along with specific knowledge on employment procedures and regulations
- Able to promote Carleton students and alumni and the benefits of a Carleton University education to employers on and off campus
- Knowledge of labour market data and trends is an asset
- Able to work with mínimal supervision
- Attention to detail is important for all aspects of the position
- Demonstrate a level of flexibility in approaches to ACT to Employ employers and students, and have experience working with people with disabilities
- Able to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and balancing deadlines
- Ability to relate to clients (students, alumni and employers) and colleagues, identify needs and to provide appropriate assistance, as well as good planning, organizational, analytical and research skills are essential to this position

**Education and Experience**:
**The above is normally acquired through the completion of**:

- Four year university degree
- Five years of experience developing and implementing student support/development programs
- Two - three years of experience working with people with disabilities
- Experience in sales, marketing and/or recruitment
