The Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery and pickup of goods and materials for our customers, suppliers, and vendors throughout the Ottawa and surrounding regions using a 5 Ton truck. Responsibilities also include:

- Schedule and deliver skids of product to customers, suppliers, and vendors throughout the Ottawa and surrounding regions
- Load and unload the 5 Ton truck and assist in wrapping and strapping skids
- Comply with driving rules and regulations, observe speed limits, and obey all the rules of the road and traffic signs
- Prepare documents ensuring the proper paperwork is available and that goods are signed for upon delivery
- Perform simple vehicle maintenance and inspections for mechanical items and safety issues
- Complete tasks in the shipping area when no deliveries are required (strapping skids, boxing, and shipping)
- Operate forklifts and/or pallet trucks to load and off load materials
- Perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management

**EXPERIENCE**:

- One to two years of experience driving 5 Ton Trucks
- Local delivery and shipping experience
- Experience handling delivery slips and completing delivery paperwork and documentation
- Warehouse and forklift experience

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Must be client service oriented with good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidence, and a positive attitude
- Able to use hand carts and pallet jacks to get the deliveries completed in an efficient manner
- Able to fill out a logbook, complete circle checks and conduct inspection of vehicles
- Must be meticulous and organized
- Must have strong time management skills
- Able to work independently and within a team environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of secondary education and/or equivalent
- Must have a valid G License
- Must provide a clean driver abstract record obtained from the Ministry of Transportation
- Must hold or be eligible to attain Government security screening to secret level
- Thorough understanding of geographic locations and ability to read a map
