Hanson High school is looking for an **English Instructor** to work at our Toronto Campus.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Deliver English courses according to the Ontario secondary curriculum to various types of students, such as international students, ESL background, teenage students.
- Prepare and implement assigned curriculum and specified course outlines by means of classroom instruction and effective pedagogical methodologies.
- Support student academic success, work habits and learning skills development.
- Compile supplementary teaching materials, undertake audio or video recording or other work as may be requested related to a course.
- Implement fair and well-balanced assessment strategies.
- Assess and evaluate the outcome and effectiveness of student learning through classroom instruction, assignments, projects, presentations, mid-term exams and final exams.
- Prepare reports of students’ academic performance, and record and maintain students’ achievements from the assigned courses.
- Undertake classroom management, attendance tracking, accurate record keeping.
- Initiate and organize extra-curricular activities related to the assigned courses.

- Strong commitment to provide students with the best education experience.
- Ability to convey course material effectively, commitment to contribute to extra
- curricular activities and educational experiences for the students.
- Strong classroom management skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic, punctual, independent and self-motivated.

**Education/Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree and above in a closely related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ontario teaching certification is preferred (OCT).
- Recognized TESL qualification is an asset.
- Experience in creating curriculum, evaluations and assignments.
- Student-centered approach of teaching.
- Patient and attentive to student needs.
- Experience with English Language Learners and an international environment an asset.
- Good computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, online education resources/platforms).
