**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that best suits their needs and preferences.
- Perform fittings and adjustments on eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Interpret and verify prescriptions from ophthalmologists or optometrists.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and prescription details, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems for efficient patient management and record keeping.
- Provide education to patients regarding eyewear care, lens options, and optical products.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a clinical setting to support patient care.
- Conduct routine vision tests and measure vital signs when necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and advancements in optical technology.
**Qualifications**
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience with optical equipment and laboratory procedures is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding, billing practices, and EMR systems such as Epic is advantageous.
- Previous experience in retail sales or management within an optical or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients as well as senior care populations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Aseptic technique knowledge is beneficial for maintaining hygiene standards in clinical environments.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week
