Niveau de rémunération: Niveau 8 Description du poste: Automation Manager Join Giant Tiger as the Automation Manager, supporting our fully automated 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, ON Reporting to the Head of Distribution, you'll lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our automation systems, managing staff, overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, enforcing safety protocols, and optimizing operational efficiency. Ensures adequate staffing is in place to perform all necessary automation tasks.- Ensures that all automation software, mechanical, and electrical equipment's preventative maintenance schedules are in place and enforced as per manufacturers specification, OHSA, and industry standards to ensure warranties and equipment life expectancy are adhered to and minimize production downtime- Enforces all GTW and equipment manufacturer's health and safety policies and procedures. Coordinates and creates, with H&S team, on safety procedures and training for all existing and new automation equipment that the maintenance and operational teams interacts with.- Ensure that all staff hourly punch times are reviewed within the payroll timelines, staff vacations are planned and approved to ensure business continuity, staff productivity is reviewed monthly, and discipline and recognition is fairly administered across all shifts.- Work cross functionally to improve operational efficiency through cross training, process improvements, and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive work environment to ensure staff retention.- Liaise and negotiate pricing with third party maintenance service providers and recommend contracts and services. Provides annual forecasted budgeted expenses for all repairs, maintenance, MHE, spare parts, mechanical, and electrical equipment, software and hardware equipment, and supplies.- Responds quickly and efficiently to all ad-hoc equipment mechanical and electrical and software breakdowns or failures to minimize production down time. Escalates and collaborates with our 3rd party provider, Symbotic, when warranted. Automation Manager, Preferred Knowledge and Skills: - Post-secondary degree or vocational diploma in related discipline or trade.- Minimum of 5 years management experience in automation/general maintenance in a distribution center environment or equivalent.- Working Knowledge of a computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience in "Maximo" is preferred.- Demonstrated experience in logistics, material management, inventory control systems, manufacturing and/or automated operations.- Strong leadership, negotiation, electro-mechanical, and project management skills.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal in English.
