**Journeyperson Carpenter**

Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with after-hours/weekend work required from time to time. Salary and benefits as per CUPE 731 Collective Agreement.

**Description**:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Operations and the Supervisor of Maintenance, the Journeyperson Carpenter will perform related duties to the buildings in the Seven Oaks School Division.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Journeyperson Interprovincial Red Seal Carpenter.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience at the Journeyperson level in commercial construction.
- Experience planning, estimating and completing small to medium projects.
- Strong carpentry skills (framing, finishing, cabinetry, concrete formwork, etc.) with a focus on educational facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction documents.
- Must have a strong background of safe working habits and the ability to positively encourage a safe work culture.
- An ability to work positively in a team environment and train less experienced staff in proper carpentry and safety practices.
- Ability to maintain and operate a dedicated workspace in a safe, efficient and organized manner.
- Ability to maintain a stock of equipment and tools.
- Valid class 5 Driver’s License.
- Physical ability to perform job tasks.
