The expected starting base salary for this position is $91,202- $ 95,761 annually, depending on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience. Once hired, you will progress through a wider salary range over time as you continue to develop job knowledge, skills and competencies for the role.

**What you’ll be doing**

The Registration Advisor, Registration Cases (Registration Advisor, RC) conducts credentialing investigations into complex matters for registration for all four designations of nursing (Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners) and Midwives. The Registration Advisor, RC ensures complex registration cases are managed in accordance with the _Health Professions Act_, BCCNM Bylaws, Human Rights, and other legislation, BCCNM policies and procedures, and the principles of natural justice and procedural fairness.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Investigates applicants’ qualifications, education, experience, and regulatory and criminal history, in complex cases to determine whether it is appropriate for the applicant to be registered and, if so, whether registration limits or conditions are required. Responsible for investigating applicants for all classes of registration for midwives and the four nursing designations with high complexity/risk profiles.
- Identifies, collects, and analyzes appropriate/relevant evidence including court documents, documentation from educational institution(s), employers, medical professionals, and other regulatory bodies, and conducts witness/applicant interviews, depending on the case.
- Synthesizes information and prepares reports with analysis and recommendations for presentation to the Deputy Registrar and/or the Registration Committee for decision.
- Prepares decision letters on behalf of the Deputy Registrar and/or the Registration Committee.
- Provides advice and guidance to the Registration Assessors, and with the other members of the Registration Cases Team assigns cases requiring investigation.
- Interprets registration policies, processes, and bylaws, particularly related to complex cases, for staff and applicants, registrants, and other stakeholders, including union and legal representatives.

**Your education & skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related program (e.g. public health, health administration, or nursing), Arts, or Business, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience related to health regulation or administration.
- A minimum of five years of experience working with legislation, bylaws, policies, and procedures, ideally in a regulatory environment.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills to interpret BCCNM’s Bylaws, policies, and processes regarding registration, to communicate complex information to registrants, applicants and stakeholders, and present evidence to the Deputy Registrar, Registration, and the Registration Committee.
- Experience preparing, planning, and conducting investigations is an asset.
- Proven ability to analyze complex and detailed information, identify relevant evidence, and prepare succinct and comprehensive reports.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and mediation/resolution skills required to manage challenging situations professionally.
