Brake Press Operator

Job Duties
- Perform typical press operations to produce materials according to specifications and on schedule.
- Inspect the materials produced for quality and conformity; correct any inconsistencies.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.

Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Exemplary motor skills are required for the position, as brake press machines have multiple settings and levers that must be adjusted for each job and quickly manipulated through the steps of creating finished products.

2. Good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings, templates and blueprints.

3. Must be able to read gauges, tape measure and other measurement tools.

4. Manufacturing-related experience in a press environment is a plus.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to odour, noise, dust, heat, cold, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending and kneeling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
