Contractors - Cooks, Chef de Partie, and Chefs

**Position Title(s)**:Culinary Assist, Cook, Chef De Partie, Chefs,
**Location**:Various Locations ( Toronto, GTA, Muskoka etc.)
**Duration**:Temporary, Seasonal, Contract
**Wage**:$18 - 35/hour dependent on experience and client needs
**Nature of Position**:
You will be an independent contractor. What does this mean? It means that you will have no obligations to Chef Life Inc. until you confirm a shift, and arrive at client specified locations to complete tasks at hand. Therefore, it is your right and privilege to accept or decline shifts based on your current availability. This will default to a responsibility and obligation to complete all tasks required if acceptance to said contracts are established by you, the contractor. There is a lot of flexibility and exceptions to this regard which will be discussed in the future.
In the summer we will get really busy and if you make the decision, you can work full time hours (if work is available). The choice is yours as an independent contractor.
We only wish that you represent the company to the highest standards when on the job. You will also have the opportunity to connect with famed companies and clientele whom we cannot name for client satisfaction.
To keep good standings with the client you may need to:
- Cook, prepare, and/or serve as per client direction in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service.
- Adhere to client standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
- Keep the work station clean and organized including fridges/freezers, countertops and stove tops.
- Have full knowledge of all menu items during your shift
- Operate all kitchen equipment with safety in mind at all times.
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Arrive on time to venues and functions.
**Expectations**
- 2 years experience in any BOH position
- Food Handlers certificate
- Proven ability to plan, organize and multi-task
- An acute sense of time management and attention to detail
- Able to lift/carry/push supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for up to 5 - 8 hours at a time
- Good communication skills
- Experience in areas of hotel kitchen operations is an asset.
You are not obligated to preform any of the specified tasks above; however failure to complete any of these task may result in loss of contract opportunities being independent contractors.
**We have work starting as soon as possible**

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
