Retail Store/warehouse General Manager

The General Manager position is ideal for someone who wants to work in a growing technology space fueling the demand for rapid product development; fuel the growth of sales; enjoys managing people and maintaining customer satisfaction. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director.

**ABOUT THE JOB**

We are looking for a professional and customer service-oriented General Manager to oversee the daily operations of both the brick-and-mortar store and e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for all 10+ staff members.

As the General Manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the store and warehouse facilities. Your duties also include administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and developing business strategies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Motivate and mentor team members to meet sales objectives.
- Ensure staff are optimally utilized, analyzing their daily workflow and performance, and correction as required.
- Hire, train, and oversee new staff to meet labour requirements.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, carry out disciplinary actions and respond to HR issues.
- Answer customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner. Manage high-level customer service issues, ensuring customers are 100% satisfied
- Ensure store compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements, and profits and make recommendations to improve sales and eliminate weakening SKUs.
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels and ordering new items.
- Undertake store administration duties such as managing store budgets and updating financial records.
- Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability.
- Be responsible for the opening and closing of the shop, including some weekends as necessary.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
- Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time salaried position, working at our office in Hamilton, Ontario. Benefits include paid sick and vacation days.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Organization skills - record keeping is a key part of this job, as is monitoring inventory and other administrative duties.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
- Shopify experience
- Good knowledge of inventory control
- Customer service skills - work with suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
- Time management - highly skilled at prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- Teamwork - strong interpersonal skills to work closely with other departments and external suppliers, maintain professionalism and helpful demeanour.
- Basic bookkeeping skills.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

**Starting Salary: $75,000-$85,000 per year depending on your experience and qualifications plus a bonus tied to individual performance goals as well as growth in company sales.**
