**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport freight between Canada and the United States.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods while adhering to schedules.
- Complete necessary documentation for cross-border transportation, including customs paperwork, manifests, and shipping documents.
- Maintain compliance with both Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and safety standards.
- Communicate with dispatchers and clients regarding route changes, delays, or other important updates.
- Inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure it meets safety and operational standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required.
- Maintain accurate logs of routes, hours of service, and vehicle conditions.
- Follow all border crossing protocols, including customs declaration and clearance.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including secure transportation and the safe handling of cargo.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Class AZ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience, with cross-border (Canada/US) experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and customs documentation.
- Familiarity with cross-border customs procedures and border security protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and coordination with dispatch.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Clean driving record with no serious infractions or violations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physically able to load/unload freight and complete vehicle inspections.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Knowledge of both metric and imperial measurement systems.
- Fluency in both English and French (depending on the route and clients).
- Experience with GPS, route planning, and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
