**Retail Merchandiser - Duties and Responsibilities**

The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for providing support to the stores for merchandising guidelines and training. The Retail Merchandiser manages the visual displays of products in stores. This is a highly creative position that involves elements of design, business, and marketing. Retail merchandisers work for retailers, improving product placement, and strategizing how to increase sales.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Devise and execute merchandising strategies that optimize sales and profitability.
- Design attractive product displays and store layouts.
- Ensure correct product placement and organization within the stores.
- Analyze sales data for trends to determine best merchandising direction or trends.
- Create a list of policies and procedures to comply with the companies’ standards and guidelines for merchandising.
- Manage seasonal transitions and special promotions to ensure they are executed properly in the stores.
- Work with marketing departments to ensure consistent merchandising and promotional efforts.
- Prepare reports on merchandising activities and present to the leadership team.
- Coordinate and execute planogram updates.
- Create an endcap strategy and ensure stores understand the plan for the year.
- Will be involved in merchandising any store openings and/or remodels.
- Stay current on the latest trends and best practices in retail merchandising.
- Ensure that product displays and store layout are according to the health and safety standards.

**Required Qualifications**:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position in retail sector.

Visual and spatial awareness

Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.

Rigor and thoroughness

Oriented towards good customer service

Good organization and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Attention to detail and accuracy

Physical stamina - be on feet all day and sometimes lift heavy goods

Flexibility regarding changing retail environments and consumers

Customer service skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite especially Excel

Familiarity with the principles of the visual merchandising techniques.

Able to travel between locations as needed

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
