**Role description**:
This role sits within the Global Resilience Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. **Role accountabilities**:
The job duties are to work with the Construction Team and Project Geotechnical Engineer to complete Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) inspection and testing on the Site. These duties include, but are not limited to:

- Conducting visual inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with Construction Drawings and Specifications;
- Conducting in situ density testing on engineered fill material using a portable nuclear gauge;
- Documenting field observations and test results, and writing daily reports;
- Collection of soil samples from the field and submitting to the laboratory for testing; and
- Interpretation of laboratory and field test results, presenting results to the Project Team and providing input to help advance construction work forward smoothly and efficiently.
- Able to work in challenging construction scenarios and provide design solutions for remedial programs
- Planning, budgeting and supervising geotechnical investigations
- Analysing field and laboratory data
- Preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations
- Overseeing geotechnical construction supervision activities and supporting our contracting team

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field preferred
- 2+ years of previous experience completing geotechnical field technician scopes of work.
- Position will require physical exertion such as long periods of standing/walking; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Minimum of 5 years in Canada to be able to complete/clear a background check Must have valid Drivers License and ability to get to and from project sites

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in QA/QC soils testing for geotechnical and/or construction projects
- Have experience working on construction sites
- Post secondary education in related field of work
