The Site Surveyor is responsible for on-site layout of sleeving and equipment on various construction sites.**Duties and responsibilities**
- Working with Total Station (Hilti, Trimble) equipment and files to mark points on job sites for sleeving.
- Ability to work with software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, BIM 360, Fabrication, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Review and/or prepare sleeving drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GPS surveying.
- Must have solid computer skills for submittal of daily files including downloading of data, preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs.
- Liaise closely with Project Managers, BIM team, and other applicable staff.
- Receive direction from Project Managers and/or Foremen.
- Attend various project meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Required Skills**:
- 2-3 years of experience in mechanical building systems.
- 1-2 years’ experience with data collection and, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations required.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have vehicle, travel is required for attending various job sites, possibly more than 1 per day.
**Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Competent in construction concepts and terminology.
- Must have overall strong technical computer skills.
- Must be self-motivated, have leadership, planning and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of commercial plumbing would be considered an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced degrees or certification preferred.
- All required Health and Safety certificates (WHIMIS, Fall Arrest)
