**Job Description - Customs Specialist**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare, review, and submit documentation for customs clearance of incoming shipments.
- Ensure accurate HS tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin declarations.
- Liaise with customs brokers, CBSA, and other government agencies to ensure smooth importation.
- Track and monitor shipments to proactively identify and resolve clearance or delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate records of customs entries, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Support internal teams by providing guidance on import procedures, duties, and regulatory changes.
- Stay up to date on CBSA regulations, CARM developments, and other trade compliance updates.
- Manage relationships with logistics partners and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings related to duties, freight, or customs processes.
**Required Experience & Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of experience in customs clearance, import operations, or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian customs regulations and procedures.
- Proficient in HS classification, valuation, and duty calculation.
- Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP or logistics software experience is an asset.
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation is an asset.
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an advantage.
