**Position Title: Carpenter**

**Responsibilities**:

- Follows a written scope and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
- Understands and follows local building codes and regulations at all times.
- Ensures all equipment, PPE, tools, and material is in working order and on the truck before leaving the building.
- Ensure that all job and Safety related paperwork is completed daily.
- Be responsible for the finished product.
- Be familiar with removal of interior and exterior building finishes/components and de-nailing of framing materials.
- General knowledge of the material and techniques used in general construction/home building, including demolition and rough/finish carpentry.
- Be precise in finish carpentry while hanging doors and cabinets, installing trim/railings, and setting windows.
- Be responsible for keeping the job site organized and clean at all times.
- Ideally the individual would be a 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
- Criminal record check must be provided prior to commencement of employment.
- Drug and Alcohol pre-employment test in accordance with our policies may be required.

**Skills/ Competencies Required**:

- Must lift heavy items of at least 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
- Be prepared to work in confined spaces or on scaffolding or platforms (providing you have proper training).
- Emergency or Standard First Aid would be an asset.
- Hold a valid Canadian Driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Be familiar with the appropriate tools, supplies and techniques.
- Ability to follow technical directions.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and team work.
- Ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Time management.
- Willingness to learn new methods and techniques.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- carpentry: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Drivers Licence (required)
