**Location**:Peninsula Food Technologies, 1 Northrup Crescent, St. Catharine’s, ON L2M 7M3

**Employment Type**: Full Time, Hourly (Paid Weekly)

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday (Saturdays when required).

**Hours**: Daily, overtime when required (overtime starts after 44hrs weekly)

We are a dry spice manufacturing plant located in St. Catharine’s. We provide quality spices to the food industry.

**Job Summary**:
We’re currently hiring a reliable and safety-conscious **Warehouse Support & Shunt Driver (DZ)**employee to join our team. This is a dual-function role responsible for moving trailers on-site (yard shunting) and assisting with general warehouse duties using a forklift as requested by the warehouse manager.

**Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:

- Safely operate D/Z truck and trailers and containers between buildings or docks on-site
- Safely operate forklift to load/off load trucks, and help with warehouse organization
- Fill out receiving reports with clear and accurate data
- Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and yard checks
- Ensure trailers are positioned accurately and safely
- Maintain yard organization and flow of equipment
- Assist with helping the warehouse team as requested by the warehouse manager
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Valid DZ driver’s license (must be presented in interview)
- Minimum 2-3 years of commercial driving experience (shunting experience an asset)
- Minimum 2-3 years of forklift driving experience
- Physically fit (Standing, sitting, lifting, climbing, bending and crouching will be required).
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Must be ok with heights and working outdoors

**Experience**:

- 2-3 years of experience with shunting and operating a forklift is required
- 1-3 years of relative warehouse experience is appreciated

**Work Environment**:

- Would be required to work on site at our manufacturing plant in St. Catharine’s Ontario
- Daily Physical Labour: Standing, sitting, climbing, bending and crouching will be required.
- Steel toed & slip proof safety shoes are required
- Steady hours, 35+ hours / week, Fast paced work environment
- We are a dry spice blending facility, this creates a distinct aroma due to the spices we handle (ex: garlic, pepper, liquid smoke flavour), and the air quality can be challenging at times
- Would need to adhere to health and safety requirements and regulations (lab coats, hair nets to be worn daily, will be provided)

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
- Forklift Licence (required)
- DZ License (required)
