Key Responsibilities:

- **Process Transactions**: Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to accurately process purchases, returns, exchanges, and payments by cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and other forms of payment.
- **Customer Service**: Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, resolving concerns, and directing them to relevant products or services.
- **Cash Handling**: Count and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring that all transactions balance accurately. Handle cash, checks, and other forms of payment securely and according to company policies.
- **Product Knowledge**: Develop a basic understanding of the products or services offered by the establishment to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- **Maintain Cleanliness**: Keep the cashier area, including the cash register, counters, and surrounding areas, clean, organized, and free of clutter. Ensure that promotional materials and displays are properly maintained.
- **Stocking and Replenishing**: Assist in stocking shelves, arranging merchandise, and replenishing inventory as needed to ensure products are readily available to customers.
- **Compliance and Security**: Adhere to all cash handling procedures, security measures, and company policies to prevent theft, fraud, and other security risks.
- **Team Collaboration**: Collaborate with other team members, including sales associates, supervisors, and managers, to ensure smooth store operations and provide support as needed.
- **Reporting**: Prepare daily sales reports, reconcile cash transactions, and maintain accurate records of transactions, refunds, and voids.
- **Compliance and Regulations**: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to cash handling, customer service, and retail operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in retail, customer service, or cash handling preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using cash registers, POS systems, and other relevant technology.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the employer.
- Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French, may be an asset in bilingual regions.

**Salary**: From $23.30 per hour
