The Red Road Healing Society is seeking dedicated Physicians to join our expanding Indigenous Health Services team in Edmonton. We are committed to patient-centered, culturally responsive care with strong administrative and clinical support systems. These roles suit physicians who want to focus on quality patient care while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. Physicians work alongside psychiatrists, nurse practitioner, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapist, Elders, and allied health staff within the Indigenous Health Services programs.

**Physician Role**
The Red Road Healing Society provides culturally grounded health services with a focus on Indigenous wellness and community care.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver high-quality patient care through thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions in patients, including pain management and pediatrics.
- Conduct routine check-ups and screenings to promote health and prevent illness.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication with colleagues.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Participate in data collection for research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects or complications.
- Provide home care services when necessary to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

**Requirements**:

- Medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in Family Medicine.
- Previous hospital experience preferred, with a strong understanding of acute care practices.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and effective communication skills.
- Ability to collect and analyze data for research purposes related to patient care improvement.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare services across diverse populations.

**Qualifications**
- MD with active or eligible licensure in Alberta
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada or equivalent
- Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada
- Eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- Experience in community health, addiction medicine, or psychiatry is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team
