Teaching Assistant

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the lead teacher in managing the classroom and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
- Provide individualized attention and support to students, both inside and outside the classroom
- Help with lesson planning, preparation, and implementation
- Assist in grading assignments and providing feedback to students
- Supervise students during recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to address student needs and concerns
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress

Please note that this is a part-time position with flexible hours. The specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Mark all class work and homework
- Provide hints to guide students through their work
- Ensure students complete their classwork and corrections
- Provide assistance to students in-class.
- Give positive reinforcement
- Keep notes of observations of how students are working
- Maintain a neat and professional work area
- Assist with cleaning and organizing the Center

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Excellent Math skills (IB Math preferred). We particularly welcome applicants with previous Kumon work experience or Kumon student experience.
- Applicant will be tested for appropriate skills
- Enjoy working with children
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Dependable, friendly, presentable and enthusiastic
- Customer Service oriented

You must be able to work Tuesday 3pm-7:30pm, Wed 3pm-6:30pm, Thur 3pm-7:30pm and Sat 10:30am - 2pm
