**OVERVIEW**

The logistics department is responsible for scheduling and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments and related documentation while ensuring that all regulatory, customer, and company requirements and policies are adhered to. The Logistics Supervisor is accountable for the oversight of all logistics operations and personnel within the logistics team.

**Accountabilities**
- Meeting with staff to identify and resolve problems as well as offer support.
- Directing and reviewing the work plan for assigned staff
- Communicating with customers regarding freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
- Monitoring freight costs, obtaining freight quotes, and negotiating preferential rates
- Coordinating with shipping companies to arrange pickup and delivery of goods
- Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
- Ensuring all relevant documentation for customs is up to date
- Responding to inquiries concerning shipping/receiving/warehouse
- Maintaining communication daily with the warehouse in order to respond on their behalf
- Participating in yearly audits - Physical Inventory Counts, C-TPAT Compliance, etc..
- Supporting Warehouse Supervisor in various tasks
- Escalating all business issues on time and with proper details for fast action and decision making.
- Resolving incoming queries from QC, Planning, Production, Maintenance and Marketing and monitor until completion
- Ensuring that specific customer requirements are met
- Preparing reports for management and/or customers upon request.
- Participating in the daily production meeting
- Creating POs and requestion of supplies and material
- Assisting logistics coordinators with receiving and/or shipping.
- Filling in for Logistics Coordinators in cases of absences:

- Shipping - Prepare customs documents, as well as generate freight bills and invoices. Build shipping plans for the days ahead, schedule trucks, and create pick lists for the warehouse. Assist with driver check-in. Post shipment in Solarsoft and SAP
- Receiving - Receive inbound material accurately. Assign delivery appointments to carriers.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of logistics and or related supply chain experience, with adequate systems training, and administrative capacity.
- Graduate of College or University program in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Familiarity with MS Office, SAP, Epicor (Solarsoft).
- Experience with coaching and employee development
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Working knowledge of computers and logistic/ trucking management software
- A team player with a good understanding of government rules and regulations

**Experience**:

- Logistics: 3 years (preferred)
- Supervising: 2 years (preferred)
