Reporting to the Category Manager, the Associate Category Manager is responsible for the execution of a merchandise category as it pertains to the omni channel strategy. Primary responsibilities include managing day to day promotional planning and merchandising of the catalog, retail, retail ads, and all other media. This position is also responsible for the execution of the product life cycle in all channels of business such as unplanned inventory, underperforming inventory, and calendar management.**Responsibilities**:

- Support the development of the product assortment for direct and retail channels to support the assortment strategy goals.
- Manage catalog, internet, and retail product lifecycle.
- Responsible for building catalog and retail ad presentations, proofing internet POD’s, providing item specs and copy information.
- Perform category level analysis of product performance in all channels for use in performance reviews with reports from Planning and Inventory.
- Assist in negotiation of purchases based on input from the Category Manager and Planning and Inventory, in the appropriate quantities for the correct location to achieve financial objectives.
- Conduct competitive analysis on catalogs, retail ads, websites and all other direct media for pricing strategies, product offering, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in business administration or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in retail merchandising and sales, inventory control/planning knowledge, and/or marketing knowledge as it pertains to retail advertising.
- Excellent computer skills in Excel. Experience using SAP is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with external vendors and internal departments.
- Experience negotiating and strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge/experience in firearms, outdoor activities and associate products is preferred.
