Key Responsibilities:

- **Receiving and Storing Inventory**:Shipping clerks receive incoming shipments, verify inventory against documentation, and store items in designated locations within the warehouse.
- **Order Picking and Packing**:They retrieve items from storage based on customer orders, carefully package them for shipment, and ensure they are properly labeled and prepared for transit.
- **Shipping Operations**:They may use shipping software to generate shipping labels, track packages, and coordinate with various shipping carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- **Maintaining Records**:Shipping clerks are responsible for maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including inventory counts, tracking numbers, and any discrepancies or damages.
- **Safety and Efficiency**:They work to maintain a clean and organized work environment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with other team members to optimize workflows and ensure the smooth operation of the shipping process.
- **Troubleshooting**:Shipping clerks are often required to troubleshoot shipping problems and errors, working to resolve issues efficiently and minimize disruptions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- **Basic Math Skills**: For inventory tracking and order verification.
- **Physical Stamina**: The ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods is necessary.
- **Attention to Detail**: Accuracy is critical in order picking, packaging, and record-keeping.
- **Communication and Teamwork**: Effective communication with team members and other departments is essential for smooth operations.
- **Familiarity with Shipping Software**: Experience with shipping software and tracking systems is often required.
- **Understanding of Safety Protocols**: Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures is crucial in a warehouse environment.
