Position in private home 18 km north of Lethbridge, Alberta

We are seeking caring, energetic young women to join our team as Neuro Rehab/ Disability Support Workers. This role is to assist a disabled woman in implementing her newly acquired Neuro Rehab program and, to provide personal care and disability support while helping her incorporate the program into her day to day activities. You will play a vital role in supporting her goals of improving her abilities, ensuring her well-being and enhancing her quality of life.

*Responsibilities*
- Neuro rehab program-Provide full assistance to the client in performing the exercises and activities of the program with training and supervision from her kinesiologist.
- Therapy Program-Support and assist with therapy as needed including equine therapy, cognitive therapy and ROM therapy. On-the-job training provided.
- Personal Care
- Assist individual with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming etc. while incorporating the neuro exercise components
- Standing Transfer and Mobility Support. On-the-job training provided
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparations
- Accompany individual to medical appointments and outings
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual
- Monitor and report any changes in the individuals well-being to supervisor.

*Qualifications*
- Experience and knowledge in supporting the disabled.
- Ability and motivation to learn the skills and activities required to implement the Neuro Home Program and Therapy Program.
- Physically fit and able to provide lifting support for standing transfers and exercise program
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and individually.
- Valid Alberta Drivers License

**This is a great learning opportunity for post-secondary students studying in related fields such as neuro science, kinesiology, nursing etc.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
