**Lead Custodian**

**Start Date: As Soon As Possible**

**Salary Range: $48,622.76 to $65,783.74**

**Location: MITT Campuses**

**Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm* (35 hours/week)**

Reporting to the Custodial Services Coordinator, the Lead Custodian will support evening Custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment throughout MITT’s campuses. _*Some weekend work may be required._

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Ensure duties are completed by evening custodial staff as delegated by the Custodial Services Coordinator.
- Assist with allocating evening staff work duties if coverage is required.
- Respond to cleaning needs of all campuses, ensure areas are cleaned appropriately.
- Assisting with inventory control of facility cleaning products and supplies for all sites.
- Assist, as needed, with set-ups for events at all MITT locations.
- Assist with snow and ice removals from designated areas as required.
- Assist to ensure that all evening staff are trained accordingly.
- Ensure locking and unlocking of buildings as directed.
- Assist with requests as required. (i.e., furniture, equipment).
- Performs general, routine custodial duties, including: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, washing, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, etc. all surfaces such as floors, walls, furniture, ceilings, fixtures, and equipment.
- Use HIPPO maintenance software to report damage or repair requests to the Maintenance team.
- Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.
- Performs duties in compliance with MITT policies and safety regulations.
- Maintains a cooperative working relationship with staff, students and the public.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:

- A combination of related education and experience may be considered._
- High School Diploma.
- First Aid CPR Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years working in a custodial/commercial cleaning industry with at leat 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of building cleaning principles and procedures.
- Working knowledge of building cleaning products.
- Driver’s license and vehicle.
- Abilitiy to use basic Computer software, i.e MS Office Suite.

**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**:

- Experience with various cleaning equipment (burnisher, polisher, carpet shampoo machine, etc.).
- Familiarity with shift work schedule.
- Previous work experience within educational facilities.
- Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling Chemicals (GHS).

**Conditions of Employment**:
