We are looking for a Junior CNC Operator and General Shophand for the Big T’s Chop Shop. If you’re new to the industry and have an interest and aptitude for CNC machining along with basic operating and safety skills, this may be a great opportunity for you to learn and grow in a pretty unique and dynamic environment.

First things first, this is definitely not a traditional “CNC Operator” role. Truth be told, you will be Employee #1, working directly with the owner on all of the things going through the shop. Every day is different, and we work on a wide variety of parts for a wide variety of industries. It’s getting busy at the shop these days, and there are a lot things that need to be done.

We’ve got 3 CNC Mills, a small lathe, and a few robots starting to get into the mix. The machines need to be fed, cleaned, maintained and occasionally encouraged. We’ve got packages coming in and going out. Things to be cleaned, de-burred, and assembled. And sometimes, just some stuff to be cleaned and organized. It’s never boring, but it’s also never the same. So, if you like routine and clocking it in, this won’t work. But if you’re up for being responsible, organized, and working on some cool stuff, read on.

**Responsibilities**:

- Safe operation of CNC machine tools - our shop currently has Haas and Tormach equipment. Bonus if you know how to use these controls.
- Post process cleaning, deburring, and polishing of metal parts
- Material preparation, cutting of stock to specified sizes
- Shipping and receiving
- Basic machine maintenance, cleaning, managing cutting fluids and coolant
- General cleaning and shop maintenance

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a shop or production environment with machinery and other industrial equipment.
- Interest or experience working with CNC Machines and manual machinery.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good safety sense and ability to describe safe operating procedures for industrial equipment.
- Organized, on-time, and efficient.

**Nice to Have Skills**
- Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 or equivalent solid modelling packages (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc).
- Experience operating Haas or Tormach machine controls.
- 3D Printing
- Laser Cutting
- First Aid training
- Experience editing video, doing web design, or graphics.

**Salary / Terms**

Currently, we’re imagining this to be a full-time 40 hour a week job at $24/hr.
