**Mission of The Ottawa Hospital Auxiliary**
To support The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) in the delivery of world class medical care to our community through innovative fund-raising initiatives, supporting essential patient services, funding education, research programs and the acquisition of vital equipment. This role will be based at both the Civic Campus and the General Campus

**Position Summary**

The Customer Service Associate is a versatile and customer-focused team member supporting both the General and Civic campus retail gift shops. This cross-functional role plays a vital part in delivering an exceptional customer experience, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting day-to-day retail operations.

**Core Responsibilities**

**Customer Service**
- Deliver friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers.
- Engage customers beyond acknowledgment — initiate conversations, answer questions, and make personalized suggestions.
- Support and guide volunteers during their shift in the shops.
- Cross-sell and upsell products when appropriate.

**Inventory & Merchandising**
- Receive and unpack merchandise; verify shipments and pricing.
- Ensure backroom stock is minimized by keeping the floor fully stocked.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and store tidiness.
- Notify manager of special customer requests or low-stock items.

**Administrative & Technical Tasks**
- Perform data entry related to inventory, pricing, and reporting.
- Create signage, product tags, and simple promotional displays using Microsoft tools.
- Communicate and coordinate via Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
- Support staff with digital processes and troubleshoot basic computer-related questions.

**Additional Duties**
- Assist with quarterly inventory counts.
- Deliver product to patient rooms as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of store (dusting, sweeping, tidying, garbage).
- Support TOHA Service Programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Required Competencies**
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across TOH campuses.
- Positive attitude and a passion for customer engagement.
- Experience with Shopify POS and/or inventory management systems is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
