Scotia Metal Products is a locally owned manufacturer of metal roofing and siding panels for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings. Based in the Burnside Industrial Park, Scotia Metal Products sells to building supply dealers, contractors, and end users all across Atlantic Canada. - **Due to continued growth, there will be opportunities for Part-time Warehouse / Production Associates. We will have opportunities for shifts of various lengths and start / finish times. We are usually open 7 days a week starting at 6am weekdays and closing around 7 or 9 pm and the weekends we have day shifts. With more flexibility on days and times then more potential hours and could lead to full time. Spring, Summer and Fall Opportunities with potential to grow into full time permanent.**_ **Summary of Position** The Warehouse / Forklift Operator / Production Associate assists in the manufacturing of metal panels and trim, operating forklifts, loading and unloading materials and picking and packaging orders. This position can be physically demanding and demands focus and attention to quality, accuracy, and most importantly, a commitment to safety. **Roles & Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)**: - Operating forklifts safely and competently. - Operating pneumatic shear, computerized metal trim folders and computerized metal panel roll forming machines. - Accurately following paperwork, counting inventory, packing orders, shipping, receiving, and loading vehicles. - Effectively communicating with management, sales staff, and other warehouse/ production staff on an ongoing daily basis - Actively participating in safety and maintenance programs. - Daily housekeeping and sanitation duties. **Qualifications & Abilities** - Work safely and contribute to a safe working environment as a priority. - Forklift operation competency with minimum two years experience. - 2 years minimum warehousing or production experience. - Positive "can-do" attitude, with initiative and commitment to excellent customer service. - Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Capable of working both independently and as part of a team. - Motivated to learn new processes and have good communicating & listening skills in a fast-paced environment. - High attention to detail and ability to work with documents and instructions while ensuring accurate counts and the correct products are accounted for. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Safety toed CSA (green triangle) approved work boots. - Punctual and reliable. **What we offer** - Hourly wage to be determined (commensurate with training and experience). - A positive and enthusiastic, fast paced team environment with safety and continuous improvement as a focus. **Job Type**: Part-time **Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour Schedule: - Day shift Ability to commute/relocate: - Dartmouth, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) **Experience**: - warehouse: 1 year (preferred) - operating forklifts: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Driver's License (preferred) Shift availability: - Day Shift (preferred)
