**Position: Senior Cloud Environment Engineer and Release Lead**

**Remote - Canada**

**Contract C2C**

**Key skillset**
- Must have at least 10+ years of experience in managing environments for large programs and release engineering tasks
- Minimum 3+ years of leading, maintaining, cloud-based environments in Agile projects
- Has a good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and release management processes
- Understands fundamentals of CI/CD processes and various aspects around code promotion into environments
- Ability to quickly understand how various systems integrate across environments
- Possess technical knowledge to be able to grasp the details from logical and/or physical architecture, integration technologies, API / microservices and platforms
- Excellent communication skills along with collaboration and leadership skills

**Key Responsibilities**
- Create, update, and continuously maintain the environment details along with current details of systems involved, versioning, connectivity
- Be the program level point of contact / lead for the various environments involved (sandbox, development, QA, end to end testing, preproduction, training, production, etc.), coordinator for new environment set up and advisor to the teams using / sharing the environments
- Understand various environment related requirements within the portfolio and the program release plan
- Define release strategies and continuously refine them as appropriate to the program and stakeholder needs including promotions between environments, hot fixes / patches, code/data backup & roll back strategies, etc.
- Participate in release planning discussions, recommend one or more feasible options for release/deployment, clearly articulate current state as well as future plans
- Work closely with the various project delivery teams like developers, system testers, business analysts and architects along with change management, scrum masters or project managers on both day-to-day activities on the environment as well as iterative release planning and production go-live activities
- Proactively identify risks, potential conflicts within the environments, propose and execute suitable mitigation steps in a timely manner
- Keep track of any patching requirements, module upgrade needs and initiate suitable action

**Nice to Have**
- Past experiences working as DevOps engineer, change coordinator or technical lead in agile delivery teams
- Familiarity with systems integration, microservices architecture, firewall and environment security aspects

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $60.00-$65.00 per hour

Schedule:
